Birch Road

Client: NZRC

Scope: Interior plaster / interior and exterior paint

Details: 360 m² full villa restoration

Challenges: Restoring the exterior was the primary challenge for this project. Much of the existing timber cladding had suffered years of sun damage, leaving it faded and uneven. Rejuvenating timber that has already deteriorated from UV exposure requires a careful and skilled approach to ensure a consistent finish.

Inside, the client wanted to retain the natural character of the original Rimu joinery. This meant avoiding any tint or colour change. Applying a clear coat that enhanced the Rimu’s warmth, while keeping its authentic tone intact, demanded precision and attention to detail throughout the finishing process.
